▽ Guide Map　　 ▽Sightseeing　　 ▽Tourist Information ◆Guide Map ◆Sightseeing ◇Lake Mashu This lake,with a circumference of l9.8km and an area of l9.l I，has the most transparent water in the world.There is no river flowing either into it or out of it,and yet the water level of the lake never changes.A small island,called Kamuisshu（little island）,set in the lake gives a symbolic impression,Lake Mashu is almost always fogbound,and it lies mysteriously among the legends which originated among the Ainu people. ◇Lake Kussharo This lake，with a circumference of 56.8km and an area of 79.5・ is the largest crater lake in Japan．Hot springs gush out from the shore，and swans come to this lake with the coming of winter．From February to March，one can see"Omiwatari"a spectacular natural phenomena in which ice in the lake rises noisily to produce a kind of ridge. ◇Mt.Ioh This volcano is still active，with gas and steam continually emanating from it，and has a unique figure as it is covered with rocks．In early summer，Ezoiso Tsutsuji，a kind of azalea，blooms beautifully throughout the mountain，presenting eye‐opening scenery. ◇900 Grassland "Limitless" is the word for the view of this area. Thesweeping 360゜panorama can enjoy from the third floor of the observatory.
